Two new Projects coming soon
1st June 2015
The production company that Sam works with, Breakneck announced early last month that they are entering into a co-production with 3 time Emmy winning Producer Chad Oakes and Nomadic Pictures - the team behind Fargo starring Martin Freeman. The new project is called Winterland, and is written by Joe May and Sam Callis. Also, the Callis Brothers are teaming up again, on a Sci Fi short, Satellite.
It seems that both Breakneck and Sam and Ben Callis, are keeping very busy with many up and coming projects. Look out for further updates, on both productions as more info comes in. And the very best of luck to Breakneck, and Sam and Ben Callis!

Cast and crew screening of Viking
29 November 2014
The 27th November
brought the cast and crew screening of Viking, the collaborative short film by
Sam and Ben Callis and Breakneck Films, in the West End of London.
Having recently released the poster for Viking (see left) it seems things are really coming together for this crowd funded film starring Andrew Lancel and Sophie Thompson.
The Callis brothers recently stated on the Breakneck Films website that 'working together has made them realize that they share a common vision when making film, but that their different perspectives make it exciting and always adds a twist to the creative process'. They are now developing several new film scripts together.

Viking - The Final Touches
9 August 2014
I was a contributor to Sam and Ben's Viking campaign back in May, and recently received an email update on how the final film is coming along as part of the Perks.
"After being trapped in a dark and dank edit suite for the last few weeks we have finally escaped into the sunshine with an almost edited film! ‘Almost' because we still have a few tweaks and nips and tucks to do and a sound mix to fret over and a colour grade to obsess about … but, apart from that we’re nearly there.
We have also submitted a rough cut of the film to the BFI London Film Festival 2014 and are waiting to hear back. We’re hoping to have the film completed in time for a few other late Autumn festivals but the bulk of our submissions will be for those festivals in Jan and Feb onwards."
Sounds like things are going well with Viking and Sam is understandably confident of the final film. I wish him and his brother every success.

It's a warp! Final day for filming Viking
May 20 2014
As we reported
before, Sam and Ben Callis and their Breakneck Films company raised the
£20,000 they needed to produce Viking and filming began recently. It was a four
day shoot which has just wrapped up and now the short is in post-production.
As yet there is no news as to when it'll be completed or ready for distribution.

Filming on Viking
May 19 2014
With the money in place filming for Viking started on 16 May 2014, and with famous actors Sophie Thompson (Four Weddings and A Funeral and Eastenders) and Andrew Lancel (Bad Girls, The Bill and Coronation Street) on board it looks as though they might be onto a winner.
In this recent picture Sophie Thompson receiving direction from Directors, Sam (L) and his brother Ben, while on location (17 May 2014). We'll try to bring you the latest news on this as we get it!
